The casinos are shown in our listing order. Each card shows the welcome offer and key terms from our own listing. Open "What we checked" on any card to see what we read on the operator's own site on 12 October 2026, or why we couldn't. When we checked, the offers shown for 32Red, Kwiff, Sun Vegas, MrQ and Midnite Casino didn't match what those operators' own sites showed, and Lottomart's offer was only for invited customers, so check the terms on the casino's own site before you sign up.

Quick answer

Which UK blackjack sites are worth it?

For small stakes, Lottomart and Grosvenor Casinos list blackjack from 10p, and at the top end 32Red shows a table up to £20,000 a hand. On bonuses, Hippodrome's is the only welcome offer we could read that counts blackjack towards its wagering, at 8%, so the full £100 bonus takes £12,500 of blackjack bets to clear, while Lottomart's invite-only 10% cashback names no games. The other nine offers we could read don't count blackjack at all. If you want to see the odds before you sit down, Lottomart and MrQ print RTPs for their blackjack games. Past that, choose on the tables: the cards show the games, the stakes we saw and the withdrawal times, wherever we could read them.

All 17 casinos here held an active UKGC licence when we checked (6 and 12 October 2026), and each casino's card has the details.

How we checked these casinos

Licences first. We looked up every casino here on the Gambling Commission's public register, and every one had an active licence (6 and 12 October 2026). Each card's licence number links straight to its entry.

Then the blackjack. On 12 October 2026 we read each operator's own lobby, game pages and offer terms, logged out: which blackjack tables it runs, the stakes shown on the tiles or game pages, any RTP it prints, and whether its welcome offer counts blackjack at all. That's what you'll find under "What we checked" on 10 of the 17 cards. The rest wouldn't load from where we ran the checks, or sent us to an international version, so their "What we checked" row says what we could and couldn't confirm.

We didn't deposit or play anywhere for this page, and we didn't time withdrawals. Payout times are the operators' own figures, read on 6 and 12 October 2026. House edges come from standard blackjack maths, and we say whose.

What we found at each casino

Notes from each operator's own lobby, game pages and offer terms, read on 12 October 2026. Stakes are what the pages showed while logged out, and we didn't deposit or play anywhere for these checks.

32Red

The widest range of stakes we saw: live tables from 50p on Exclusive Infinite Blackjack up to £20,000 a hand on VIP Blackjack 5.

Pro: Its own 32Red Blackjack A to D and Exclusive Blackjack tables, with Bet Behind available on many of them, going by its lobby data.

Con: Its bonus money can't be used on blackjack, and the site's current welcome spins (320 for a £30 slots stake) differ from our card.

Sources: live lobby · offer terms

Kwiff

Its casino lobby wouldn't load from where we ran our checks, so we couldn't see its blackjack tables.

Con: Live casino and table games don't count towards its welcome offer, and the way the spins are paid differs from our card.

Sources: offer terms

Lottomart

Prints the RTP and the minimum and maximum bet on every blackjack game page, which the studios themselves mostly don't do.

Pro: Game pages that list stakes from 10p, and the 10% cashback on our card names no games or exclusions, so its terms don't rule out blackjack losses.

Con: The cashback is for invited customers. New visitors see a Prize Wheel offer that needs slot stakes.

Sources: blackjack lobby · cashback terms

Hippodrome

Of the welcome bonuses we could read, the only one that counts blackjack towards its wagering. Most blackjack counts 8% towards the 10x wagering, and Classic Blackjack counts nothing.

Pro: Hippodrome London Blackjack, which it promotes as streamed from its London casino.

Con: 8% is slow going (£12,500 of bets for the full £100 bonus), and we found no table limits in its logged-out page data.

Sources: blackjack lobby · bonus terms

Grosvenor Casinos

Prints the stakes on its live tiles, from 10p on Infinite Fun Fun 21 to £10,000, and has four tables from its own new studio.

Pro: Live Grosvenor Blackjack One to Four, plus a Free Chips Giveaway for existing customers on weekdays from 7pm to 11pm that includes them (opt in and spend £10 cash on the participating games for a chance of random 20p Free Chips; T&Cs apply).

Con: The welcome bonus only works on 18 named slots, even though its live blackjack page says it helps with your first blackjack bets.

Sources: live blackjack · offer terms

Virgin Bet

Runs its own Virgin Bet Blackjack 1 and 2 (£5 to £1,000) and Virgin Bet Pro Blackjack (£10 to £1,000), and most of its other tables we saw ran £1 to £1,000.

Pro: Tables from four studios (Evolution, Pragmatic Play, OnAir and Playtech), including Playtech's Quantum Blackjack Plus.

Con: The welcome offer is spins on Eye of Horus, so it does nothing for blackjack.

Sources: live blackjack · offer terms

Sun Vegas

A Playtech lobby with London Blackjack Live and The Sun Vegas VZN Blackjack, a table under its own name.

Pro: Its Tuesday and Thursday reload gives 3 x £1 Golden Chips that work on any live table, blackjack included (opt in, then deposit and stake £10 cash on slots or live casino; 5x wagering and a 7-day expiry apply; T&Cs apply).

Con: The welcome bonus only works on seven named slots, and the site offers a 100% match up to £100, not the €300 in our card's headline (£300 in its terms).

Sources: live blackjack · welcome offer

MrQ

Prints the RTP and stake range on its game pages (£1 to £1,000 on Lightning and Free Bet Blackjack), and its Blackjack tab puts Multihand Classic Blackjack at 99.91%.

Pro: Multi-hand RNG blackjack, up to five hands at once, and no wagering on any of its promotions.

Con: The welcome spins are for slots, and the site's current offer (100 spins on Big Bass Splash) differs from our card.

Sources: live games · welcome offer

Midnite Casino

74 games in its blackjack tab, including its own Midnite Blackjack and Midnite BlackjackX tables from Pragmatic Play.

Pro: Pragmatic's Privé Lounge Blackjack alongside Evolution's Infinite, Lightning and Free Bet tables.

Con: No stakes shown while logged out, and the welcome offer's £20 has to go on five named slots.

Sources: blackjack tab · welcome offer

Mecca Games

We found no blackjack title in its website's game catalogue, though its app page says the Google Play app has blackjack.

Con: The welcome bonus only works on seven named slot and Slingo games.

Sources: site catalogue · offer terms

LiveScore Vegas

Its Live Blackjack row has 25 tiles, three of them lobby tiles, and the table tiles show their limits: most top out at £1,000, and ONE Blackjack goes to £5,000. An Easy Blackjack tile, where you bet on the dealer's hand score, shows up to £20,000.

Pro: Its own LiveScore Bet Blackjack 1 and 2, Free Bet and Pro Blackjack tables.

Con: The welcome spins need a £10 slots wager, so they're no help for blackjack.

Sources: live casino · promotions

Gala

Licensed to LC International Limited (account 54743), with IBAS for disputes. Its main site was blocked for us, but its help centre loaded.

Con: With casino bonus funds the most you can stake is £2 a hand or spin, and withdrawals take from instant to five banking days on top of its own processing time.

Which blackjack has the best odds? 3:2, 6:5 and the rules that matter

The best odds are at a 3:2 table with good rules, played by basic strategy. A £10 blackjack pays £15 at 3:2 and £12 at 6:5, and by Wizard of Odds' rule calculations that one change adds about 1.4% to the house edge. None of the other rules below costs you as much.

With good rules and basic strategy, a multi-deck game keeps roughly 0.4% to 0.5% of what you bet. Wizard of Odds puts Atlantic City rules at 0.43%. The rules that move it most, going by the same figures:

  • 6:5 instead of 3:2 on a blackjack: about 1.39% worse for you.
  • Dealer hits soft 17 rather than standing: about 0.22% worse.
  • No doubling after a split: about 0.14% worse.
  • Fewer decks: one deck is worth about 0.48% to you against eight, but six decks are barely different from eight (0.02%).
  • Late surrender, where it's offered: worth about 0.07% to 0.08% to you.
  • No hole card for the dealer (the European rule): about 0.11% worse.
  • A Six Card Charlie, as on Infinite and ONE Blackjack: about 0.16% in your favour.
  • A dealer 22 that pushes your standing bets, as in Pragmatic Play's Free Bet Blackjack: about 6.91% against you on its own, before the free doubles and splits are counted.

All of that assumes you play every hand by basic strategy. Bad habits cost more than any of these rules: Wizard of Odds puts the house edge at 3.91% if you never hit a hard 12 or more, and 5.48% if you play like the dealer.

And the RTP figures you see quoted? Evolution doesn't publish one on its own game pages, and we found no Playtech blackjack game pages at all. Pragmatic Play gives only a ceiling, "up to 99.59% in some variations" with basic strategy and doubling after a split. A UK site still has to make the house edge, the RTP or the odds of winning easy to find before you bet, and some print the RTP on every game page.

Live blackjack RTPs as printed on the casinos' own game pages, read on 12 October 2026. Gambling Commission guidance says the RTP of a game with an element of skill, like blackjack, should be worked out on a standard or published strategy, so a printed RTP assumes you play every hand by it. Games with the same name can come in different versions, so the figures don't always match, and a dash means that casino's pages didn't show the game or its RTP.
GameOn Lottomart's game pageOn MrQ's game page
Classic live blackjack99.29%96.30%-99.29%
Infinite Blackjack99.47%99.47%
Lightning Blackjack99.56%99.56%
Free Bet Blackjack98.26%98.45%
Power Blackjack98.80%-
ONE Blackjack-99.28%
Easy Blackjack97.23%-

The highest RTPs we saw printed were for RNG games: 99.91% for Multihand Classic Blackjack on MrQ's Blackjack tab and 99.60% for European Blackjack on Lottomart's game page. They're the casinos' figures, not ours.

Free Bet and Power Blackjack come out lower than Infinite and Lightning Blackjack. Each gives you something and takes something back: Free Bet's free doubles and splits are paid for by a push when the dealer busts with 22 (the rule in Pragmatic Play's version), and Power Blackjack's triple and quadruple downs come with the 9s and 10s taken out of the shoe. Easy Blackjack is lower still because it's a different game: only the dealer gets cards, and you bet on set hand scores.

The live blackjack games you'll see most

Most UK lobbies run the same few studio games, sometimes under the casino's own name. Here's what actually changes from one to the next, from the studios' own pages.

  • Classic live blackjack: seven seats round the table, and once they're full you can bet behind a seated player, as Evolution describes it.
  • Infinite Blackjack (Evolution): no seat limit. Everyone gets the same first two cards and then plays the hand their own way, and six cards totalling 21 or less win outright, even against a dealer blackjack.
  • ONE Blackjack (Pragmatic Play): the same idea. One seat is shared by any number of players, each making their own decisions, with the six-card rule built in.
  • Lightning Blackjack (Evolution): a 100% Lightning Fee is added to every opening bet. In return, a winning hand earns a 2x to 25x multiplier for your next round, which only boosts your payout if you win that round too.
  • Free Bet Blackjack: free doubles on hard 9, 10 and 11, and free splits on every pair except tens and picture cards. In Pragmatic Play's version, if the dealer busts with 22 the bets still in play push, except a winning blackjack.
  • Power Blackjack (Evolution): eight decks with the 9s and 10s taken out, 64 fewer cards, and you can double, triple or quadruple down on your first two cards.

Several casinos here also run tables with their own name on them:

  • 32Red: 32Red Blackjack A to D and Exclusive Blackjack
  • Hippodrome: Hippodrome London Blackjack, which it promotes as streamed from its London casino
  • Grosvenor Casinos: Live Grosvenor Blackjack One to Four, from Grosvenor's own studio
  • Virgin Bet: Virgin Bet Blackjack 1 and 2, and Virgin Bet Pro Blackjack
  • Sun Vegas: The Sun Vegas VZN Blackjack
  • Midnite Casino: Midnite Blackjack and Midnite BlackjackX
  • LiveScore Vegas: LiveScore Bet Blackjack 1 and 2, plus its Free Bet and Pro Blackjack tables

For what goes on behind the camera, see how live casino games work and our page on Evolution. Our live casino sites comparison covers the wider lobbies.

Live blackjack or RNG blackjack?

Live blackjack is dealt by a real person in a studio or casino and streamed to you. RNG blackjack is software that deals from a random number generator. Both have to meet the Gambling Commission's technical standards, and the practical difference you'll notice is pace.

Online casino games other than slots and peer-to-peer poker must leave at least 5 seconds between the start of one round and the next. So an RNG game can't start more than 720 rounds an hour (3,600 seconds divided by 5), and a multi-hand game deals several hands in each of those rounds. A live round takes longer: Pragmatic Play's ONE Blackjack gives players 16 seconds just to place their bets.

Speed matters because the house edge applies to every bet. At £5 a round and a 0.5% edge, 720 rounds an hour would cost you about £18 on average, and 60 rounds about £1.50. Same game, same stake, very different hour.

Seats are the other thing. A classic live table has seven, and if they're taken you can only bet behind someone else's hand. Infinite and ONE Blackjack get round that by letting everyone play the same opening hand. Our guide to live dealer vs electronic blackjack goes further.

How much can you bet on online blackjack?

The cheapest live tables we saw started at 10p a hand, and £1 was common. The UK's £5 and £2 stake limits don't come into it: they're for online slots only, and the Gambling Commission's guidance names blackjack as a game they don't apply to. Each table sets its own limits instead.

The lowest and highest blackjack stakes we could see on each lobby, logged out, on 12 October 2026:

  • 32Red: from £0.50 (Exclusive Infinite Blackjack) to £20,000 (VIP Blackjack 5)
  • Lottomart: from £0.10 (Lightning Blackjack Live) to £1,030 (Blackjack, an RNG game), as printed on its game pages
  • Grosvenor Casinos: from £0.10 (Infinite Fun Fun 21 Blackjack and the RNG Premium Blackjack) to £10,000 (Live Blackjack)
  • Virgin Bet: from £1 (Infinite, Lightning and Power Blackjack, among others) to £1,500 (Eclipse Blackjack and Speed Blackjack 1)
  • MrQ: from £1 (most of its live and RNG tables) to £1,000 (Lightning and Free Bet Blackjack)
  • LiveScore Vegas: from £1 (Infinite, Lightning and ONE Blackjack, among others) to £5,000 (ONE Blackjack 1 and 2)

Those are the figures the lobby tiles or game pages showed. Limits change, and some sites only show them once you're logged in, so check the table before you sit down.

Playing with bonus money can cap your stake as well. Some of the sites here limit you to £2 a hand while a bonus is active, and others treat any single bet of 30% of the bonus or more as irregular play.

Do casino bonuses work on blackjack?

Mostly not. Of the 11 welcome offers here whose terms we could read, nine don't count blackjack at all, because they're free spins for slots or bonus money locked to named slots. Where blackjack does count, the list below shows how.

How the welcome offers on this page treat blackjack, going by each operator's own terms on 12 October 2026:

Here's why the percentage matters so much. Since 19 January 2026 no UK bonus can ask for more than 10x wagering. But if blackjack counts at 8%, only 8p of every £1 you bet goes towards it. A £100 bonus needs £1,000 of wagering, and at 8% that's £12,500 of blackjack bets.

For blackjack, cashback tends to work better. You get part of your losses back, with nothing to play through first. Read what it covers, though, and whether it's only for invited customers.

Beyond the welcome offers, a few sites ran promotions on 12 October 2026 that live or blackjack play can count towards:

  • Hippodrome: weekend Mega Spins for eligible customers who wager £100 or more on live or Real Dealer games, though the spins are for a slot. T&Cs apply.
  • Grosvenor Casinos: a weekday Free Chips Giveaway for existing customers, 7pm to 11pm, that drops random 20p chips on participating games, including its four Live Grosvenor Blackjack tables, once you opt in and spend £10 cash. T&Cs apply.
  • Sun Vegas: a Tuesday and Thursday reload that gives 3 x £1 Golden Chips, usable on any live table, when you opt in, deposit and stake £10 cash on slots or live casino (5x wagering, 7 days). T&Cs apply.

Two more things in the small print: a maximum bet while the bonus is active, and rules against "low-risk" play, which several of the terms we read spell out. Our guide to how wagering requirements work has more.

Basic strategy, insurance and side bets

Basic strategy is the set of decisions that loses least over time, worked out for every total you can hold against every dealer card. Played that way, a decent multi-deck game keeps about half a percent of what you bet.

Insurance is the bet to skip. It's offered when the dealer shows an ace, costs half your original bet and pays 2:1 if the dealer has blackjack. Over time it loses about 7.4% of what you put on it in a six-deck game. "Even money", offered when you hold a blackjack against a dealer ace, is the same bet in another form.

Side bets are where the edge gets bigger. None of the studios we checked publishes an RTP for its side bets. For the pay tables it found on Playtech's Quantum Blackjack, Wizard of Odds' maths puts 21+3 at about 96.3% and Perfect Pairs at about 95.9% with eight decks, well below the 99.5% or so you get on the main hand. Other pay tables return more or less, and the game's info screen should show which one you're playing, so look before you add one.

Can you count cards at online blackjack?

You can try, since the Gambling Commission has no policy on card counting either way (it says it would look at any case on its own facts). Online, though, the way the games are dealt gets in the way.

Infinite Blackjack and ONE Blackjack deal the same opening hand to everyone at once, and Evolution's Infinite games mix physical and virtual cards. Where a studio does say how big the shoe is, it's big: Evolution's Power Blackjack uses eight decks (with the 9s and 10s taken out), and Pragmatic Play's Blackjack X, which it runs without a live dealer, uses eight decks with no reshuffle until the cut card comes out. With RNG games, look on the rules screen for the number of decks and how often they're shuffled: the Commission's guidance lists both as things a virtual card game's rules should consider covering.

So when you're choosing a site, the table rules (3:2, how the dealer plays soft 17, doubling after a split) are the part you can actually check.

Is online blackjack rigged? How UK fairness is checked

It shouldn't be at a UK-licensed site, and it isn't left to the casino to say so. Every online casino game has to be tested by an approved test house before it goes live, and the operator has to keep checking that it pays out as designed. The Commission doesn't approve games itself. Instead, operators have to submit each game and its test report before release.

For RNG blackjack, results must be "acceptably random", a game can't adjust outcomes to hit a target, and a virtual deck has to behave like a real one. Live studios have to be fair and independently auditable, which means trained croupiers, supervision and cameras on the dealing.

All of that only holds at licensed sites. Every casino on this page has its UKGC licence number on its card, so you can check it on the register yourself. Our page on whether live casino games are safe goes into the live side.

UK rules that change how online blackjack plays

In Great Britain, online casino games other than slots and peer-to-peer poker must leave at least 5 seconds between the start of one round and the next, and autoplay and turbo features are banned. These are the rules you'll notice:

  • No autoplay. You have to commit to each round yourself.
  • Five seconds a round. A hand can finish sooner, but the next round can't start until 5 seconds have passed, and nothing is allowed to hurry the result.
  • One game at a time. Since 17 January 2025 sites can't offer ways to play several casino games at once, and the Commission had multi-table roulette and blackjack in mind.
  • No celebrating a loss. A game can't put on win effects for a return that's no more than you staked, a small side-bet win on a losing hand, say.
  • Your totals on screen. A session has to show your net position since you started and how long you've been playing.
  • No credit cards, and that includes an e-wallet topped up from one. The ban has applied since 14 April 2020.
  • 18 and over, and checked. A licensed site has to verify who you are before you can gamble.
  • No tax on winnings. They're tax-free, whatever the amount.

The rule against features that push you to raise your stake doesn't touch blackjack's own options: the Commission gives splitting, which raises your stake when certain cards come, as an example of what's still allowed.

Online blackjack FAQ

Which UK blackjack sites are worth a look?

It depends what you want: for low stakes, Lottomart and Grosvenor Casinos list blackjack from 10p; for high stakes, 32Red goes up to £20,000 a hand; and of the offers we could read, only Hippodrome's welcome bonus counts blackjack towards its wagering, at 8%. All 17 casinos here held an active UKGC licence when we checked.

Is online blackjack legal in the UK?

Yes, in Great Britain, at sites licensed by the Gambling Commission, and you have to be 18 or over. A licensed site must verify your age and identity before you can gamble. Every casino on this page had an active UKGC licence when we checked, and its licence number links to the Commission's register.

Is online blackjack rigged?

It shouldn't be at a UK-licensed site. Every online casino game has to be tested by an approved test house before release, RNG results must be "acceptably random", and live studios must be fair and independently auditable, with supervised, camera-watched dealing.

Is live blackjack better than online blackjack?

It depends what you want. Live blackjack is dealt by a real person and plays more slowly. RNG blackjack can deal up to 720 rounds an hour, because UK rules require at least 5 seconds from the start of one round to the start of the next, and the more you play at the same stake, the more the house edge costs you.

Can you count cards in online blackjack?

The Gambling Commission has no policy on it, but the games make it hard. Infinite and ONE Blackjack deal one shared hand to everyone, and the shoes the studios describe are big: eight decks in Evolution's Power Blackjack, and eight in Pragmatic Play's Blackjack X, which has no live dealer and is reshuffled only at the cut card.

Does blackjack count towards casino bonus wagering?

Usually not. Most welcome offers we read are free spins for slots, or bonus money for named slots only. When it does count, it's usually a small share of each bet. At 8%, a £100 bonus with the maximum 10x wagering needs £12,500 of blackjack bets to clear.

What is the minimum bet on online blackjack in the UK?

Often £1, sometimes 10p. On 12 October 2026 Grosvenor Casinos' lobby tiles went down to 10p and Lottomart's game pages listed 10p too; Virgin Bet, MrQ and LiveScore Vegas started at £1. Tables change their limits now and then, so it's worth a look before you sit down.

Is there a maximum bet on online blackjack in the UK?

Not a legal one. The £5 and £2 stake limits are for online slots only, and the Gambling Commission names blackjack as a game they don't cover, so each table sets its own maximum. The highest we saw was £20,000 a hand, at 32Red.

What is the house edge on blackjack?

Somewhere around 0.4% to 0.5%, if the table has good rules and you stick to basic strategy. That's Wizard of Odds' maths for a multi-deck game. Bad rules add to it: a 6:5 blackjack payout puts on about 1.4%, a dealer hitting soft 17 about 0.2%.

What is the RTP of Lightning Blackjack?

99.56%, as printed on Lottomart's and MrQ's Lightning Blackjack pages on 12 October 2026. Evolution's own page gives no RTP. What it does say is that every opening bet carries a 100% Lightning Fee, and a winning hand gets a 2x to 25x multiplier for the next round, which only pays if you win that one as well.

Is 3:2 or 6:5 blackjack better?

3:2, by a distance. On a £10 blackjack that's £15 against £12, and the 6:5 payout puts about 1.4% on the house edge. By comparison, a dealer hitting soft 17 costs you about 0.22%, and losing the double after a split about 0.14%.

Should you take insurance in blackjack?

Generally no. Insurance pays 2:1 if the dealer has blackjack, but it loses about 7.4% of what you put on it over time in a six-deck game. "Even money" on your own blackjack is the same bet.

Can I play blackjack online for free?

Some UK sites offer free-to-play versions of their games, but the Gambling Commission's rules say a licensed site must verify your age before you can play them. We didn't check which of the sites here offer free blackjack.

Do you pay tax on blackjack winnings in the UK?

No. The Gambling Commission says winnings from gambling are tax-free for customers, whatever the amount.
