The casinos are shown in our listing order. Each card shows the welcome offer and key terms as listed in our system. Open "What we checked" on any card to see what we read on the operator's own site, or why we couldn't. When we checked on 11 October 2026, the offers shown for Kwiff, Sun Vegas, MrQ, Midnite Casino and 32Red didn't match what those operators' own sites showed, so check the terms on the casino's own site before you sign up.

Which UK casino sites are worth it?
Of the ten casinos here whose terms we could read on 11 October 2026, Hippodrome is the only one whose terms put customer money at the "high protection" level of the Gambling Commission's rating system, while Sun Vegas says its funds are not protected if the company goes bust. The other eight are rated medium. On welcome offers, the most valuable spins we could match to the offer on our card are Hippodrome's: 100 at 20p, so £20 of spins, no wagering on winnings. Past that, pick on how you'll pay and play: we list each casino's deposit methods, withdrawal terms and support on its card, wherever we could read them.
All 15 casinos here held an active UKGC licence when we checked (6 October 2026), and the cards on this page have the rest.

How we checked these casinos
Licences first. Every casino here went through the Gambling Commission's public register, and every one came back with an active licence (6 October 2026). Each card's licence number links straight to its entry.
Then the fine print. On 11 October 2026 we read each operator's terms and help pages for the rating it gives your money, the dispute service it uses, its withdrawal minimums, fees and limits, its support channels and its apps, plus its deposit methods. That's what you'll find under "What we checked" on 10 of the 15 cards. The other five either wouldn't load from where we ran the checks or sent us to an international version, so there's less under theirs: for two, only what app-store listings or the dispute service's own list told us, and for the rest, just the licence.
We didn't deposit or play anywhere for this page, and we didn't time withdrawals. Payout times are the operators' own figures, read on 6 and 11 October 2026.
What stood out at each site
Notes from each operator's own terms and help pages, read on 11 October 2026. Withdrawal figures are the operators' own, and we didn't deposit or play anywhere for these checks.

Pro: A long list of deposit methods, Trustly named among them.
Con: Debit card withdrawals stay pending for at least 24 hours, and its terms and banking page give different minimums (£5 and £10).
How to check a UK casino is licensed
It takes about a minute, and it's the one check worth doing every time.
Scroll to the bottom of the casino's site. A UK-licensed one will say it's licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the Gambling Commission and give an account number. Then put that number, the company name or the web address into the Commission's public register. You'll see whether the licence is active, which websites it covers, and any action the Commission has taken against the business. The Commission's own guide walks through the same steps.
Every casino on this page has its UKGC licence number on its card, so you can skip straight to the register entry.
One thing that confuses people. Several brands can sit under one licence. A "white label" casino is a site run under another company's licence, and that company is fully responsible for it, so the name on the register won't always match the name on the logo. That's normal, as long as the website is listed against an active licence.
And the sites that aren't licensed in Great Britain? They're breaking the law by offering gambling here, and the Commission's own blog says unlicensed sites, the kind marketed as "not on GamStop", often lack age checks, safer-gambling tools, secure payments and a proper dispute-resolution scheme. Some block payouts. Nothing on the rest of this page applies to them.
Is your money safe if a casino goes bust?
Not in the way bank savings are. Money in a casino account isn't covered by the Gambling Commission or the government if the company collapses, which the Commission's guide on customer funds spells out. What you get instead is a rating under the Commission's system, applied by the operator, and every licensed site has to tell you which one it uses.
There are three. Not protected means your money has to be kept in a separate bank account, but it still counts as the company's assets if it goes under, so you'd probably lose it. Medium protection means the operator has made arrangements, insurance or a special kind of account, to get the money back to players, though that isn't guaranteed. High protection means a formal trust account checked by an independent trustee or an outside auditor, which gives you the best chance of seeing it again.
Here's what the casinos on this page say in their own terms, for the ten we could read on 11 October 2026:
- High: Hippodrome
- Medium: Lottomart, Kwiff, Grosvenor Casinos, MrQ, Virgin Bet, Mecca Games, Midnite Casino and 32Red
- Not protected: Sun Vegas
The rating has to be in the terms and conditions, and you have to confirm you've read it before you can play with your first deposit. Since 31 October 2025, a site rated "not protected" also has to remind you every six months and show you how much it's holding for you.
It covers your deposits, winnings left in the account and any bonus money you've become entitled to. Money tied up in a bet that hasn't settled doesn't count. Honestly, the simplest protection is not to leave a big balance sitting in any casino account, whatever its rating.
Withdrawals: how fast, and what can hold them up
Usually within a day or two, going by the operators' own figures. In 2023 data from some of the largest gambling companies, around 99% of withdrawals were approved, processed and paid within 24 to 48 hours (it's in a Commission blog). We found no UKGC rule that sets a maximum payout time, though.
Some of the quickest figures the operators here give for themselves: Kwiff (under 30 minutes for most withdrawals), Grosvenor Casinos (most within 15 minutes with Fast Withdrawals), MrQ (most processed instantly, otherwise up to 2 working days) and Mecca Games (most within 15 minutes with Fast Withdrawals). Those are their claims, not times we measured.
Then there's the bit after the casino approves it. Card payouts usually land one to three working days after approval, though some operators here quote up to five, and most sites pay back to the method you deposited with.
The minimums and fees the operators state, read on 11 October 2026:
- Lottomart: Minimum £10, no fee (a fee may apply below the minimum), up to £5,000 per transaction
- Kwiff: Minimum £10, no fee stated
- Hippodrome: Minimum £5, £1 fee only on balances under £5
- Sun Vegas: Minimum £5, no fee, up to £50,000 per withdrawal
- Grosvenor Casinos: Minimum £5, no fee
- MrQ: Minimum £10, no fee
- Virgin Bet: Minimum £5, no fee, up to £20,000 per transaction
- Mecca Games: Minimum £10, no fee
- 32Red: Minimum £5 (£10 for cards and PayPal on the banking page), no fee
What you're entitled to is clearer than most people realise. You can withdraw at any time without unreasonable delay, you don't have to take it in instalments, and a casino can't confiscate your balance because you didn't log in or prove your ID by a deadline. It should check who you are before you gamble, not at the point you try to cash out. Licence condition 17.1.1 puts it plainly: no holding back a payout for documents it could have asked for earlier. The Commission has also said that putting the hurdles at withdrawal, not at deposit, isn't acceptable.
A real check can still hold things up, mind. If something on your account trips a money-laundering or safer-gambling flag, the payout may wait while they look into it. Ask them in writing what they need and why.
One more rule, since October 2021: once you've asked to withdraw, the site can't let you cancel it and gamble the money instead.
Welcome offers in 2026: what they're actually worth
Smaller than the banners suggest, and simpler than they used to be.
Since 19 January 2026 no bonus at a UK-licensed casino can ask for more than 10x wagering, under the Gambling Commission's social responsibility code, and a single promotion can't mix products, so "bet on the football, get casino spins" is gone. Most of the offers on this page are free spins rather than bonus money anyway.
With free spins, the sum that matters is the number of spins times what each one is worth. 200 spins at 10p is £20 of spins, the same as 100 at 20p, and what you'd expect to win back on average is a bit less than that, because the slot keeps its edge. Then check whether the winnings have wagering on them, whether there's a cap on what you can cash out, and how long you've got. Our slot sites comparison does those sums for each offer.
Two other things to watch. First, the payment method: plenty of offers only count a debit card deposit, and some exclude PayPal and Paysafecard by name. Second, the game: a welcome bonus usually counts in full on slots and for very little, or nothing, on roulette and live tables. If that's what you play, our roulette and live casino comparisons show how each offer treats them.
My own rule of thumb is to pick the casino first and treat the offer as a small extra, not the reason to sign up.
Paying in: Trustly, PayPal, Paysafecard, MuchBetter and AstroPay
Here it is by method, because that's how most people search for it.
Deposit methods each operator lists on its own payments or help pages, for the ten sites here we could read:
- Trustly by name: 32Red
- Pay by Bank (provider not named): Kwiff, Grosvenor Casinos, MrQ, Virgin Bet, Mecca Games and Midnite Casino
- PayPal: Hippodrome, Sun Vegas, Grosvenor Casinos, MrQ, Virgin Bet, Mecca Games and 32Red
- Paysafecard: Sun Vegas, Grosvenor Casinos, Mecca Games and 32Red
- Apple Pay: Kwiff, Grosvenor Casinos, MrQ, Virgin Bet, Mecca Games, Midnite Casino and 32Red
- Google Pay: MrQ, Midnite Casino and 32Red
MuchBetter and AstroPay come up a lot in searches, so we looked for those too. None of the ten payments pages we could read listed MuchBetter, and none listed AstroPay either.
"Pay by Bank" and "Instant Bank Transfer" take the money straight from your bank account, much like Trustly, but not every site says which company runs it, so we've only listed a site under Trustly where it names Trustly. Paysafecard is a prepaid voucher you can pay in with but usually not withdraw to. And credit cards are out altogether: gambling on them has been banned in Great Britain since April 2020, e-wallets loaded from a credit card included.
More on each method: Trustly casinos, PayPal casinos, Paysafecard casinos, Apple Pay casinos and MuchBetter casinos.
Deposit limits, financial checks and the other 2025-26 changes
A lot has changed in a short time, so here's where things stood on 11 October 2026.
Deposit limits. Since 31 October 2025, every UK site has to prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, with setting one as the default. Since 30 September 2026 a limit can only be called a "deposit limit" if it caps what you actually pay in over a day, a week or a month.
Financial vulnerability checks. These are in force, and have been since 28 February 2025. Put in £150 more than you've taken out over any 30 days and the operator has to look you up in public records, things like bankruptcy and county court judgments (licence condition 3.4.4).
Financial risk assessments. No start date had been announced when we checked. On 7 July 2026 the Commission decided to bring them in in stages, starting with the biggest operators and net deposits over £5,000 in 24 hours (£2,500 for under-25s and other higher-risk groups). In May 2025 the Commission said it had no "affordability check" rule and wasn't proposing one, and it says these assessments won't affect your credit score.
Self-exclusion. Every UKGC-licensed site has to be part of GamStop, which blocks you from all of them for six months to five years, and the block can't be lifted early.
Oh, and tax. You don't pay any on gambling winnings in the UK. HMRC doesn't treat gambling as a trade, even for someone who makes a living at it, and the tax is charged to the operators instead.
If a casino won't pay: complaints and ADR
Start with the casino. Use its complaints process (not just a chat with support) and keep copies of everything. It has 8 weeks to sort it out, and because online casinos run around the clock, it should acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours. The Gambling Commission doesn't settle individual disputes itself.
If it's still unresolved after 8 weeks, or the casino sends a final "deadlock" response sooner, you can take it to the casino's alternative dispute resolution provider. ADR is free for players, and the casino has to name its provider in its terms and conditions. ADR looks at disputes over the outcome of your gambling, a withheld win say, rather than complaints about service.
For the 11 casinos on this page we could check, going by their own terms or the ADR provider's own list: Lottomart, Sun Vegas, Grosvenor Casinos, MrQ, Mecca Games and Midnite Casino use IBAS; Kwiff, Hippodrome, Virgin Bet, Pub Casino and 32Red use eCOGRA.
Worth knowing: since April 2026 the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, not the Commission, accredits gambling ADR providers. Approvals made under the old system can still be used until January 2027.
Picking a casino by game
If you mostly play one thing, choose on that.
Slots. The same slot can run at different RTP settings from one casino to the next. Blueprint lists five versions of Eye of Horus, from 90.25% to 96.31%, and when we looked one casino's game page listed Big Bass Bonanza at 92.05%, against the 96.71% the studio publishes. Check the game's info screen before you play. Our slot sites comparison covers spins value, RTPs and the £5 stake limit (£2 if you're under 25).
Roulette. Single-zero European roulette has a 2.70% house edge, American double zero 5.26%, and French tables with La Partage cut it to 1.35% on even-money bets. Table limits vary a lot between sites. See our roulette sites comparison.
Live casino. Lobbies here are mostly Evolution and Pragmatic Play, so the difference is in table limits, the cashier and whether a welcome offer counts there at all (usually it doesn't, or only a little). Our live casino comparison has the details.
Online casino FAQ
Which UK casino sites are worth a look?
How do I check if an online casino is licensed in the UK?
Scroll to the footer. A licensed site says it's regulated by the Gambling Commission and gives an account number. Type that number, the company name or the web address into the Commission's public register and you'll see if the licence is active and which websites are on it. Every casino on this page had an active UKGC licence when we checked, and its licence number links to the Commission's register.
Is my money safe if an online casino goes bust?
It depends on the rating the casino gives your funds, which it must state in its terms: not protected, medium protection or high protection. Only high protection means a formal trust account, overseen by an independent trustee or external auditor. Money held by a casino isn't covered like a bank account, so it's best not to leave large balances sitting there.
How long do casino withdrawals take in the UK?
Often within a day or two. In 2023 data from some of the largest operators, about 99% of withdrawals were paid within 24 to 48 hours. After approval, card payments usually take one to three working days, sometimes up to five. We found no rule setting a maximum time, but a casino can't make a withdrawal depend on checks it could have done before you played.
Why is my casino withdrawal pending?
Usually it's just being processed. Several operators here aim to approve within 24 hours, though some quote up to 72 hours or two working days. It can also be held for a genuine security or safer-gambling check. A casino should verify your identity before you gamble rather than when you withdraw, and it can't make you take your money in instalments.
Which UK casinos accept Trustly, MuchBetter or AstroPay?
Going by the payments pages we read on 11 October 2026, 32Red names Trustly on its payments page, and Kwiff, Grosvenor Casinos, MrQ, Virgin Bet, Mecca Games and Midnite Casino offer Pay by Bank without naming the provider. None of them listed MuchBetter, and none listed AstroPay.
Can I claim a casino welcome bonus with PayPal or Paysafecard?
Often not. Plenty of UK welcome offers only count a debit card deposit, and several exclude PayPal and Paysafecard by name, so check the offer's payment terms before you deposit. Credit cards can't be used for gambling at all in Great Britain.
What's the most wagering a UK casino bonus can have?
10x. That's been the cap at UK-licensed casinos since 19 January 2026, and one promotion can't mix betting with casino any more. Watch what the 10x is charged on, mind. A few offers count the deposit as well as the bonus, so you end up wagering more than ten times the bonus.
What can I do if a casino won't pay out?
Complain to the casino through its complaints process first. It has 8 weeks to resolve it and should acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours. If it doesn't, or you reach deadlock sooner, take it to the casino's ADR provider, which is free and named in its terms. The Gambling Commission itself won't rule on one player's complaint.
Do you pay tax on casino winnings in the UK?
No, not even on a big win. HMRC doesn't see gambling as a trade, so you keep the lot, and the gambling taxes are paid by the operators.
What are financial risk checks at UK casinos?
Light-touch financial vulnerability checks are already in force: once your deposits minus withdrawals pass £150 in 30 days, the casino checks public records like bankruptcy. Fuller financial risk assessments for high spenders were decided in July 2026, but the Commission hadn't announced a start date when we checked on 11 October 2026.
Is online gambling legal in the UK, and how old do you have to be?
Yes, in Great Britain, at sites licensed by the Gambling Commission, and you must be 18 or over. The casino has to verify your age before you can deposit or even play its free demo games, and confirm your name, address and date of birth before you gamble.
Are "not on GamStop" casinos safe?
No. They don't hold a British licence, which makes offering gambling here illegal. The Gambling Commission's warning is that sites like these often skip age checks, safer-gambling tools and secure payments, and there's no proper dispute scheme to turn to. None of the UK protections on this page apply to them.
