Quick answer

Which UK roulette sites are worth it?

For small stakes, seven of the casinos here list roulette from 10p, Grosvenor Casinos and LiveScore Vegas among them. The highest table limit we saw was £20,000, on Speed Roulette Ezugi at Grosvenor Casinos and VIP Roulette - The Club at 32Red. Hippodrome has the only welcome bonus we read that counts roulette towards its wagering, but at 8% a £100 bonus with 10x wagering takes £12,500 of roulette bets to clear. Nine of the offers here are no use for roulette at all. For roulette I'd choose on the tables and the cashier, and leave the bonus to slots players.

All 16 casinos here held an active UKGC licence when we checked (6 and 11 October 2026), and the cards above have the rest.

The other sites in the table didn't show stakes on the pages we read.

How we checked these casinos

Licences first. We looked up every casino on this page on the Gambling Commission's public register, and every one had an active licence when we checked (6 and 11 October 2026). The licence number on each card links to its register entry, so you can check it yourself.

Then the roulette side. On 11 October 2026 we read what each operator publishes on its own site: the roulette games in its lobby, the table limits where they're shown, and whether the welcome offer on its card can be used on roulette. That's what sits under "What we checked" on 11 of the 16 cards. The rest wouldn't load from where we ran the checks, or sent us to an international version, so the licence is all we could confirm for them, and their "What we checked" row says so.

We didn't deposit or play anywhere for this page, and we didn't time any withdrawals. Payout times are the operators' own figures, read on 6 and 11 October 2026. The odds and payouts come from the game studios' pages and standard roulette maths.

Grosvenor Casinos

Live from Grosvenor streams roulette from seven of its own casinos (The Vic in London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton), and online players join the same game as the people in the room. The live roulette page lists 28 roulette tiles as well.

Pro: A huge spread of limits. Live Grosvenor Roulette runs from 10p to £10,000, and a couple of tables go up to £20,000.

Con: The £40 welcome bonus is for 18 named slots, and the terms say betting red and black on the same spin won't count towards any promotion. The optional X Boost on Live from Grosvenor tables charges an extra 20% on straight-up bets for a shot at multipliers.

Sources: live roulette lobby · Live from Grosvenor · offer terms

Hippodrome

Two live tables are streamed from the Hippodrome in London, and the site says its Grand Roulette is on the main casino floor in Leicester Square. Around them it's the usual mix, with Evolution's French Roulette, Playtech's Quantum Roulette and Pragmatic's Mega Roulette in there.

Pro: Of the welcome offers we read, the only bonus that counts roulette towards its wagering, live and RNG alike.

Con: It counts at 8%, though, so a £10 roulette bet clears 80p of wagering. And the public pages don't show table limits.

Sources: roulette lobby · live casino · bonus terms

LiveScore Vegas

Big lobby. The live roulette row lists 47 games (a few are first-person RNG versions) and the roulette category 27 more, including LiveScore's own branded tables and an RNG European Roulette La Partage.

Pro: Limits are printed on the live tiles, from 10p, and LiveScore Bet Roulette runs 10p to £2,000. Funded accounts also get On the House Roulette, a free daily pick game where you can win chips for selected roulette tables.

Con: The welcome spins need a £10 wager on a slot and are for one slot, so roulette play doesn't count towards them.

Sources: live lobby · roulette lobby · promotions

Mecca Games

Not really a roulette site. We couldn't find a roulette lobby at all, only a page for Gates of Olympus Roulette, which runs 10p to £1,600.

Pro: That page does list its limits and its RTP (97.30%).

Con: The bonus only works on seven named slot and Slingo games, so it's no use for roulette.

Sources: game page · offer terms

Lottomart

Lightning, XXXtreme Lightning, Immersive and Pragmatic's Mega Roulette tables, plus a few RNG games such as 20p Roulette. Smaller than some, at 15 titles on its roulette page.

Pro: Every game page shows its limits, so Mega Roulette for instance is 10p to £250.

Con: Top limits stop at a few hundred pounds, and Lottomart's general bonus table rates table and live games at 0%. The cashback on the card has no game limit in its terms, but Lottomart lists it under My Promotions, so check it's on your account before you deposit.

Sources: roulette lobby · cashback terms · bonus contribution rates

Midnite Casino

The roulette tab said 75 games when we looked, including Midnite's own Midnite Roulette and Midnite Auto Roulette (live, from Pragmatic Play) and an exclusive RNG game, Midnite EU Roulette.

Pro: Lots to choose from, Double Ball and Lightning Roulette included.

Con: Hardly any limits on show (we found two 20p minimums). Watch Monopoly Roulette too, which pays straight-up wins at 19 to 1 rather than 35 to 1. The welcome spins are slots only.

Sources: roulette lobby · Monopoly Roulette · welcome offer

Sun Vegas

Runs on Playtech's platform (its logo is in the footer). Quantum Roulette, X1000 Quantum Roulette and Mega Fire Blaze Roulette are there, plus tables branded Hippodrome, Bellagio and MGM Grand, and an RNG Premium French Roulette.

Pro: One of the few lobbies here with Playtech's Quantum range and a French RNG table.

Con: No table limits on the public pages, and the welcome bonus and spins only work on seven named slots.

Sources: live roulette · welcome offer

MrQ

Evolution's range for the most part (Lightning, XXXtreme Lightning, Gold Vault, Red Door, Speed and Auto Roulette) with Pragmatic's Mega Roulette and a few RNG games like 20p Roulette.

Pro: Limits are on the game pages, Live Auto Roulette 10p to £2,000 for one. MrQ also says its roulette runs at the highest RTP available, mostly 97.30%, and its promotions are all wagering-free.

Con: The welcome spins on MrQ's own promotions page are for a slot, so no use at the tables.

Sources: roulette lobby · live lobby · promotions

32Red

Its own 32Red Auto and Speed tables run from 10p to £10,000, and there's a French Roulette La Partage table from Pragmatic as well as Evolution's French Roulette Gold.

Pro: A live La Partage table, and a weekly £5,000 Pragmatic Play cash drop on live roulette (from a £1 bet, prizes paid in cash).

Con: The welcome spins are for slots, and the terms say the money from them can only be played on slots, not live casino or table games. The promotion terms also rule out covering more than 70% of the table, which is 26 numbers or more.

Sources: roulette page · cash drop

Unibet

Same licence holder as 32Red (Platinum Gaming Limited) and a similar lobby: Unibet Lightning Roulette and Unibet Roulette at 10p to £1,000, French Roulette La Partage, and Real Roulette with Matthew from Real Dealer Studios.

Pro: Unibet's own figure for debit card withdrawals is a few minutes to one banking day.

Con: The welcome spins are for slots, and the money from them can only be played on slots, not live casino or table games.

Where to play Lightning Roulette in the UK

Of the 10 casinos here whose roulette games we could read on 11 October 2026, 7 had Lightning Roulette: Grosvenor Casinos, LiveScore Vegas, Lottomart, Midnite Casino, MrQ, 32Red and Unibet.

It's Evolution's game wherever you open it, so the rules and the multipliers don't change from site to site.

Where the sites do differ is the limits. Here's what their Lightning Roulette tables showed when we looked: Grosvenor Casinos 20p to £2,000, LiveScore Vegas 20p to £2,000, Lottomart 20p to £250, MrQ 20p to £500, 32Red 20p to £1,000 and Unibet 10p to £1,000.

As for how it plays. It's single-zero roulette, and every round between one and five Lucky Numbers get struck with a multiplier of 50x to 500x. Hit one of those with a straight-up bet and that's what you're paid. The catch is the other straight-up wins, which pay 29 to 1 on Evolution's standard version instead of the usual 35 to 1. Splits, corners, red or black and the dozens all pay the normal amounts. One UK site's help page quotes 19 to 1 for straight-ups, mind, so check the paytable at the table before you start.

So if you mostly bet red or black, Lightning is ordinary European roulette with a light show on top. It only really changes anything for people who like single numbers.

Evolution doesn't print an RTP for it on its own site, by the way. UK-licensed casinos have to show the house edge, the RTP or the odds of winning before you play, usually in the game's rules or help screen. Our Lightning Roulette guide has more on the game itself.

European, French or American roulette: which has the best odds?

French, if the table plays La Partage. Then European. American comes a long way third, and on a UK site I can't think of a good reason to pick it.

It's all about the zero. A European wheel has 37 pockets (1 to 36 plus one green zero) but pays every bet as though there were 36, and that gap is the house edge of 2.70%. The American wheel adds a double zero, so it's 38 pockets for exactly the same payouts and the edge climbs to 5.26%. You'll see the same thing written as RTP on the game studios' pages: 97.30% for single zero and 94.74% for double zero.

French roulette uses the single-zero wheel as well. What changes is La Partage. When the ball drops into zero you get half your stake back on even-money bets (red or black, odd or even, 1-18 or 19-36), which halves the edge on those bets to 1.35%. On a straight-up number or a split it's the usual 2.70%, which people tend to miss.

Put into pounds, for every £100 you stake over a long stretch the maths keeps about £2.70 on a European wheel, £5.26 on an American one and £1.35 on even-money bets at a La Partage table. One evening can go either way, of course.

Roulette bets, payouts and your chances

This is the standard menu on a single-zero table. Every bet on it carries the same 2.70% edge, so choosing outside bets over inside ones changes how bumpy the ride is and nothing else.

Standard payouts on a European (single-zero) wheel. Chance per spin is the pockets covered divided by 37.
BetCoversPaysChance per spin
Straight up1 number35 to 12.7% (1 in 37)
Split2 neighbouring numbers17 to 15.4%

Six line2 rows, 6 numbers5 to 116.2%
Dozen or column12 numbers2 to 132.4%
Red or black, odd or even, 1-18 or 19-3618 numbersEvens (1 to 1)48.6%

Which also answers "is roulette 50/50?". Red or black looks like a coin toss, but zero is green, so on a European wheel you win 18 spins in 37, about 48.6% of the time. On an American wheel it's 18 in 38, or 47.4%.

If by the safest bet you mean the one that wins most often, that's any even-money bet. It doesn't lose you less in the long run, mind. The 2.70% applies to the lot.

Live roulette or RNG roulette?

Live roulette is a real wheel with a real dealer, filmed and streamed to you, and you bet through the site while it spins. RNG roulette is software. A random number generator picks the result and the wheel you see is an animation.

Both are tested. RNG games need sign-off from a Gambling Commission-approved test house before they go live, and live studios serving British players have to be fair and independently auditable, with supervision and cameras on the dealers (more on that further down).

The bigger difference is speed. More spins an hour means more money going through the same 2.70% edge, even if your stake per spin never changes. Here's what the published round times work out to on a single-zero wheel at £1 a spin.

Our arithmetic from the round times the provider and the regulator publish. Expected cost = amount staked × 2.70% house edge, a long-run average.
Type of tableRound timeSpins an hourExpected cost an hour at £1 a spin
Auto Roulette (live wheel, no dealer)60 to 80 games an hour (Evolution)60 to 80£1.62 to £2.16
Speed Roulette (live)About 25 seconds spin to spin (Evolution)About 144About £3.89
RNG roulette, clicking as fast as allowedAt least 5 seconds per game, the UK minimum (RTS 14)Up to 720Up to £19.44

Nobody spins RNG roulette every five seconds for an hour, obviously. But played flat out, a 20p RNG table costs about the same an hour as £1 a spin at Speed Roulette, which is why I'd rather pace myself at a live table.

Lightning RouletteEvolution1 to 5 numbers a round get 50x to 500x on straight-up bets; other straight-up wins pay 29 to 1
XXXtreme Lightning RouletteEvolutionUp to ten lucky spots a round, and Double Strikes can push multipliers to 2,000x
Mega RoulettePragmatic Play1 to 5 Mega Multipliers of 50x to 500x on straight-up numbers every spin
Mega Roulette 3000Pragmatic PlayUp to eight numbers get 50x to 3,000x; Pragmatic states an RTP of 97.50%
Quantum RoulettePlaytechUp to five multipliers of 50x to 500x, plus a random Quantum Boost
Gold Vault RouletteEvolution5 to 20 Gold Bars worth 50x land each spin and can stack to 150x; one 500x Super Gold Bar is possible
Double Ball RouletteEvolutionTwo balls, two winning numbers, and two-ball bets paying up to 1,300 to 1
Immersive RouletteEvolutionMulti-camera roulette with a slow-motion replay of the ball landing

Of all those, Mega Roulette 3000 is the only one where the studio prints an RTP on its own site. For the rest, open the help screen at the table. The multipliers only ever land on straight-up bets, too, so these games suit people who want the odd huge hit more than people who want their money to last.

Some sites also stream roulette from real UK casino floors, which is as close as online gets to standing at the wheel. We found it at Grosvenor Casinos and Hippodrome, and the casino notes above have the details.

Do casino bonuses work on roulette?

Mostly not, or not in a way that's worth much, for two reasons. Loads of UK welcome offers are free spins, and free spins belong to one named slot. And where the offer is bonus money, roulette tends to count for only a small slice of the wagering, if it counts at all. Casinos call this weighting or game contribution, and it's in the bonus terms rather than on the banner.

Of the 11 welcome offers here whose terms we could read, 9 are for slots only. Hippodrome (8%) counts roulette towards the wagering, at a reduced rate. Lottomart pays cashback with no game limit in the terms, though it's listed as a My Promotions offer, so check it's on your account first.

Worked example: a £20 bonus with 10x wagering, if roulette counted at 10%
£200
to play through on slots (100% contribution)
£2,000
of roulette bets to clear the same bonus (10% contribution)

Since 19 January 2026 no bonus at a UK-licensed site can ask for more than 10x wagering, under the Gambling Commission's social responsibility code. Good news for slots players. For roulette it helps less than you'd think, because the weighting multiplies straight back on top.

One more thing to watch in the terms is what casinos call irregular play. Covering the table to grind through wagering with next to no risk (red and black on the same spin is the classic) doesn't count towards it in the terms we read, and several of them name that exact bet. The same code also stopped single promotions mixing products, so "bet £10 on the football, get casino spins" deals aren't allowed any more.

My honest view is to play roulette with your own money and treat a welcome bonus as a slots thing. If you'd like something back on your losses, a cashback offer with no game limit in its terms is the closer fit.

How much can you bet on online roulette?

There's no legal cap per spin on online roulette in the UK. The stake limits that came in for online slots in 2025 (£5 a spin, or £2 if you're 18 to 24) are for slots only, and the Commission's guidance names roulette as one of the games they don't cover. Its consultation response gave the reason, roughly that a bigger roulette stake can be split across the layout, so a cap per spin wouldn't work the same way.

So the limits are whatever each table sets. The lowest published roulette stakes we found on 11 October 2026: Grosvenor Casinos 10p to £10,000 (Live Grosvenor Roulette), LiveScore Vegas 10p to £2,000 (LiveScore Bet Roulette), Mecca Games 10p to £1,600 (Gates of Olympus Roulette), Lottomart 10p to £250 (Mega Roulette), MrQ 10p to £2,000 (Auto Roulette), 32Red 10p to £10,000 (32Red Auto Roulette), Unibet 10p to £1,000 (Unibet Lightning Roulette) and Midnite Casino 20p (Monopoly Roulette). The rest either didn't show limits on the pages we read or wouldn't load for us.

Limits are per table rather than per site, by the way, so a casino with 10p tables can also have ones that start at a fiver. Check the minimum and maximum at the table before you put chips down.

Whatever the limits, UK sites now have to ask you to set a financial limit, such as a deposit limit, before your first deposit, with setting one as the default. I'd take them up on it.

UK rules that change how online roulette plays

If you last played roulette online a few years ago, it'll feel different now. In January 2025 the Gambling Commission took most of the game design rules that slots had since 2021 and applied them to other online casino games, roulette and blackjack included. In practice that means:

  • No autoplay. You have to commit to every spin yourself, though a re-bet button that repeats your last bet is still allowed (RTS 8).
  • At least 5 seconds from the start of one game to the start of the next, and no turbo or quick-spin buttons (RTS 14).
  • No playing several tables at once through the site, and no celebrating a "win" that pays back less than or the same as you staked (say one chip in a spread lands but the round still loses overall).
  • Your net position (wins minus losses) and how long you've been playing have to be on screen for the whole session (RTS 2).

That net-position counter is the most useful number on the screen, for what it's worth. Keep an eye on it.

The older rules still apply as well. Sites have to check your name, address and date of birth before you can play at all (since May 2019), and you can't gamble on a credit card, including through an e-wallet loaded from one (since April 2020). And before you bet, every UK-licensed game has to make its rules and payouts easy to find, along with the house edge, the RTP or the odds of winning, under RTS 3.

Is online roulette rigged?

Not at a UK-licensed site, as far as anyone can check, and there's a fair bit of checking.

RNG roulette has to be tested by a Gambling Commission-approved test house before it's released, and the operator has to keep checking that the game pays out what it was designed to (the Commission explains how it keeps online games fair). The results must be what the technical standards call "acceptably random", and "compensated" games, the kind that adjust outcomes to hit a target, aren't allowed under RTS 7. Live tables have their own standard, RTS 17, which says live dealer operations must be fair and independently auditable, with trained croupiers and cameras on the dealing.

None of that means you'll win, of course. A fair game with a 2.70% edge still takes 2.70% over time. That's the honest answer to "is it rigged?". It doesn't need to be.

What I'd actually check is the licence. Every casino on this page has its UKGC licence number on its card, linked to the Commission's public register. Sites that aren't licensed in Great Britain, including the ones sold as "not on GamStop", aren't covered by any of the rules above.

Do roulette strategies work?

No. "Roulette strategy that always wins" turns up in Google's own search suggestions, and it's still a no, because the maths hasn't moved.

The idea goes like this. Bet £1 on red, double up after every loss, and the first win gets back everything you've lost plus £1. Fine until you hit a losing run. Miss eight times in a row and you're £255 down with the next bet needing to be £256, which a lot of low-limit tables won't even take. On a single-zero wheel eight misses in a row comes round about once in every 207 attempts. Rare for one go. Over a few hundred goes, pretty much expected.

Fibonacci, D'Alembert, the James Bond spread and the rest have the same problem. They change how big your bets are and in what order. They can't change what a spin pays, so the edge on every pound you put down stays exactly where it was: 2.7p per £1 on a European wheel.

And hot numbers? Every spin is independent, or as the Gambling Commission's guide to RTP puts it, the odds in the current game aren't affected by wins or losses in previous ones. A number that's landed three times in the last twenty is no more likely to land next, whatever the stats panel on a live table seems to suggest.

What actually helps is dull. Play single zero, use a La Partage table for even-money bets if you can find one, and decide what you can afford to lose before you start rather than halfway through.

Online roulette FAQ

Which UK roulette sites are worth a look?

Where can I play Lightning Roulette in the UK?

Of the 10 casinos here whose roulette games we could read on 11 October 2026, 7 had Lightning Roulette: Grosvenor Casinos, LiveScore Vegas, Lottomart, Midnite Casino, MrQ, 32Red and Unibet. It's the same Evolution game at all of them, so compare the table limits, the offer and the withdrawal times instead. One rule to know before you play: on Evolution's standard version, straight-up wins pay 29 to 1 unless your number has been struck with a multiplier.

Is online roulette rigged?

Not at UK-licensed sites. RNG roulette must be tested by a Gambling Commission-approved test house before release and its payouts monitored afterwards, results have to be acceptably random, and live dealer studios must be fair and independently auditable. A fair game still has a house edge, though: 2.70% on a single-zero wheel. Check the licence number on the Commission's public register.

Which roulette game has the best odds?

French roulette with La Partage, for even-money bets. You get half your stake back when zero comes up, which brings the house edge on those bets down to 1.35%. European roulette is next at 2.70% on every bet. American roulette, with its extra double zero, is worst at 5.26%, and 7.89% on the five-number bet.

Is roulette 50/50?

No. Red or black covers 18 of the 37 pockets on a European wheel, so you win about 48.6% of the time. The green zero makes the difference. On an American wheel it's 18 out of 38, or 47.4%.

Do casino bonuses count on roulette?

Usually not, or only at a low rate. Most UK welcome offers are free spins on a named slot, and bonus money tends to count roulette at a small percentage of the wagering, if at all. Since 19 January 2026 no bonus at a UK-licensed site can carry more than 10x wagering.

What is the minimum bet on online roulette in the UK?

It's set by each table, not by law, and 10p or 20p tables are common. Limits are set per table, so check them at the table before you bet.

Is there a maximum bet on online roulette in the UK?

Not a legal one. The £5 per spin limit (£2 for 18 to 24-year-olds) applies to online slots only, and the Gambling Commission says it doesn't cover roulette. The maximum is whatever the table allows, and VIP tables go into the thousands.

Is live roulette better than RNG roulette?

Neither is fairer, as both are regulated and tested. Live roulette is a real wheel and dealer on a stream, and it's slower: Evolution's Speed Roulette runs about 25 seconds a spin. RNG roulette can go every 5 seconds, the UK minimum, so it can cost more an hour at the same stake. Pick on pace and on the table limits.

Does any roulette strategy actually work?

No. Systems such as Martingale, Fibonacci and D'Alembert change the size and order of your bets but not what a spin pays, so the house edge stays at 2.7p per £1 staked on a European wheel. Martingale also hits table limits fast. Eight losses in a row from a £1 start puts you £255 down, with £256 needed for the next bet.

What is the RTP of Lightning Roulette?

Evolution doesn't publish one on its own games site. UK-licensed casinos have to show a game's house edge, RTP or odds of winning before you play, usually in its rules or help screen. The rules that drive it are public, though. Multiplied numbers pay 50x to 500x, other straight-up wins pay 29 to 1 on Evolution's standard version, and all other bets pay the standard amounts.

Is online roulette legal in the UK?

Yes, at sites licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, if you're 18 or over. The site has to verify your name, address and date of birth before you can play, and you can't gamble on a credit card. Every casino on this page had an active UKGC licence when we checked, and its licence number links to the Commission's register.
